I have no idea who would be a detractor of Hedman. Everyone I've read and talked to always extols his virtues as a complete defender.

There are a number of hedman detractors. There were a couple in the New York Islanders thread last series

I've said it numerous times that if I am building a team my first choice of defenceman would be Hedman ahead of Karlsson, Subban, Keith, Doughty etc. The guy is a rock.

I don't even think he's close to his peak yet. When he does I see multiple Norris trophies with his name on them.
